Boatshed Toolbox

What does a Boatshed Broker do all day?

Boatshed is primarily about people, you will spend a large proportion of your time meeting, talking to and negotiating with boat buyers and sellers and those within the marine industry who provide services to enable this to happen. Here’s an idea of the sort of things you’ll do:

  1. Find boats to list for sale – it sounds obvious but it’s the first and one of the most important steps to selling a boat so we provide in depth training and a great tool kit to help you with this.
  2. Next you’ll need to get Boatshed’s famous photos and detailed description of the boat loaded on the software and on the internet but with Boatshed’s easy to use system it’s nowhere near as complicated as it looks.
  3. One of Boatshed’s policies is that all our viewings are accompanied so you’ll need to show prospective purchasers around the boats and answer their questions.
  4. The Boatshed software allows you to easily manage all your enquiries, process the sales and produce the relevant documentation at each step from when the boat goes live on the website to when the keys are handed over.  The Boatshed team will always be on hand behind the scenes to help out with any queries or problems you encounter along the way.
  5. You will be involved in the negotiations at the offer stage and if necessary again once the boat has been surveyed or otherwise checked by the purchaser.  Some people relish this aspect of the business and some find it trickier so we provide extra training and support in this area if it’s needed.
  6. At Boatshed we try to be as helpful as possible, that’s one of the reasons our customers keep coming back so you might end up helping you buyers and sellers to source quotes for insurance, transport, repairs, berthing or just somewhere to stay when they come to collect their new pride and joy.

We won’t pretend that running your own Boatshed business isn’t hard work because there will be days when it really gets busy, but there are days when you really don’t want to be doing anything else.  Being a Boatshed broker involves sometime in front of a computer, sometime in the office, sometime talking on the phone and a lot of time outside with boats and boating people.
