FEATURED OFFICE – INTERVIEW WITH PETER DELBRIDGE OF BOATSHED HAMBLE

Peter lives on the glorious South Coast of England with his wife Clare and his 3 children aged nearly 3, 7 and 10 years old along with their two Wiemaraners one of which is just 10 weeks old!  He is qualified to advanced RYA powerboat instructor/windsurfing instructor/PWC instructor level.  He also enjoys dinghy sailing which he has been doing for forty years and has sailed yachts for twenty years.  Also involved in Hamble business is his partner and brother Michael.  Peter has had his Boatshed business for 6 years.

What were you doing before Boatshed?   I worked as Project Manager for an international company supplying pontoons and building marinas. I was also previously an administrator for RYA Sailability.

Why did you start your Boatshed Business?  I had been looking for my own business to run for 20 years after closing down a family business that had been going for 100 years.

Why did you choose Boatshed?  I could see the potential of getting on board early and it has certainly paid off.

What advice would you give others joining the Boatshed Group?  Make sure you know your area, the people and the boats eg. your market, as they are all different.  Also to make sure you have enough money to get you through up to two years of business. 

What are your future plans?   To sell lots more boats!
